In Uptown Odyssey (TBW Books, 2026), photographer Gerald Cyrus brings together black-and-white photographs taken in Harlem throughout the 1990s. From the streets and subway stations to music clubs, his images document the neighborhood’s everyday life and its residents. Edited and introduced by Gioncarlo Valentine, the book includes previously unpublished subway photographs that remained in the artist’s archive for more than thirty years.
