Cross Perspectives is the result of a collaboration between the Institut pour la photographie des Hauts-de-France and the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi. Ten displays integrated into the permanent collection bring around forty photographs from the archives of Bettina Rheims, Jean-Louis Schoellkopf and Agnès Varda into dialogue with works from the Museum’s collection. These juxtapositions, based on thematic, formal or technical connections, trace the history of photography from its origins to the contemporary era. The works resonate with photographs by Albert Londe, Jacques Meuris, August Sander and Yves Auquier. Accompanied by explanatory texts, the presentation offers new perspectives on the history of photography and reflects the exchange of knowledge between the two institutions.
