Juliette Agnel : Éternité Primordiale
For the first time in Belgium, the Musée de la Photographie presents a selection of works by French artist Juliette Agnel, whose work takes visitors to the threshold of the invisible. Trained in visual arts and ethno-aesthetics, she has travelled the world for over thirty years, using photography and video to explore the forces beyond the visible, magnifying the power of the vegetal and mineral worlds.
Her series explore darkness, memory and the invisible forces of the universe: from Sudanese necropolises in Taharqa et la nuit to the prehistoric caves of Arcy-sur-Cure in La main de l’enfant, as well as the Géode de Pulpi, Forêt-Ancêtres and the herbarium Dahomey Spirit.
Born in 1973, Juliette Agnel lives and works in Paris. Her practice focuses on landscape, night and the experience of place, and has been exhibited extensively in France and internationally. In 2023, she received the Prix Niépce.
