Carrie Mae Weems - The Heart of the Matter

C/O Berlin presents a major retrospective of American artist Carrie Mae Weems (b. 1953). For over four decades, she has explored power, memory, identity, race and femininity through photography, video and installation. Featuring more than 100 works, the exhibition spans her career from early series to recent pieces. Blending personal experience with social and historical issues, Weems examines how images shape history and memory, while questioning how places, institutions and identities are represented.
