Michela Cane. Chi Ama Non Dimentica

As part of the partnership between Le Soir and the Musée de la Photographie, the Galerie du Soir showcases emerging photographers. For this new edition, it presents Michela Cane and her work exploring the cult of Diego Maradona in Naples.

Born in a small village in the Italian Alps, Michela Cane discovered photography at an early age. After moving to Brussels to study at La Cambre, she returned to Italy for a project exploring “the making of a hero.” She chose Maradona, a popular figure whose cult brings together the people of Naples.

Photographed during the anniversary week of his death, her series Chi ama non dimentica explores the celebrations, places and objects connected to the footballer’s memory. Visitors are also invited to contribute to a large collective mural inspired by Panini stickers.
