Fables of Faubus , in six chapters, explores the work of British documentary photographer Paul Reas , spanning thirty years (1982-2012). Paul Reas belongs to the generation of photographers who brought the working class to light and documented the industrial decline of the United Kingdom in the 1980s and 90s. Through keen observation of society, sometimes with humor, he witnessed the emergence of a new, individualistic world where mass consumption became the norm. This extraordinary body of images revisits three decades of political, social, and economic upheaval in Great Britain, but above all, it reveals the unique and atypical career of an artist who, over the decades, carved out his place in the art world through demanding work and a constant questioning of his photographic approach.
