Gustave Fayet: Collector and Creator. Icons of Modern Art

Following its Icons of Modern Art exhibitions dedicated to pioneering collectors, the Fondation Louis Vuitton presents “Gustave Fayet: Collector and Creator” from 9 October 2026 to 8 March 2027. Spanning the entire Fondation, the exhibition explores Fayet’s unique legacy through two complementary themes: collector and creator. A key yet often overlooked figure of modern art, Fayet emerges as a collector, artist and patron. For the first time in over a century, the exhibition reunites more than 250 works from his remarkable collection, now dispersed worldwide, alongside 325 works by Fayet himself, most never before shown and specially restored. Highlights include masterpieces by Van Gogh, Gauguin, Redon, Degas, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir, Morisot, Signac, Bonnard, Vuillard and Matisse.
