Al di là ("Beyond" in Italian) is a photographic journey through Naples and Palermo by Martine Voyeux. Created between 2001 and 2008, the project explores the hidden, uncanny dimension of everyday life in these historic Mediterranean cities. Rather than documenting reality, Voyeux seeks to cross into a realm of wonder and the supernatural, uncovering traces of mystery within ordinary lives. Using color analog photography, she creates dreamlike images filled with intense reds, ochres, and purples, while fragmented compositions of faces and bodies evoke a world suspended between reality and imagination.
