Exhibition: Sun and Moon. Andreas Eriksson in Dialogue with Ivan Aguéli
“Sun and Moon: Andreas Eriksson in Dialogue with Ivan Aguéli” brings together two Swedish artists separated by a century. The Swedish Institute’s autumn exhibition presents the meditative paintings of Andreas Eriksson (b. 1975), inspired by the landscapes of Medelplana, alongside works by Ivan Aguéli (1869–1917), artist, thinker and mystical traveller.
Eriksson’s earthy, mineral and vegetal textures meet Aguéli’s luminous, simplified landscapes shaped by his journeys between Sweden, Europe and the East. Despite their contrasting paths—one rooted in a single place, the other in constant search—their works share a sensitive exploration of nature, light and inner truth.
