Walter et Billy, On the Traces of Hell

Fondation des Artistes
Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, 11 rue Berryer
75008 Paris
France

While MABA’s exhibition spaces remain closed during renovation, On the Traces of Hell turns this absence into its starting point. The exhibition evokes a “Salon des Refusés,” echoing the “hell” of libraries, where forbidden books or works considered contrary to social norms were once kept.
Like a refuge, it brings together older and previously unseen works by authors and graphic designers. The book becomes a living space, with each page containing its own world, somewhere between creation and documentation. The exhibition explores a blurred and unsettling vision of graphic design, between what is revealed, hidden, and suggested.
