Look! 40 Years of Fashion at the Museum

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Musée des Arts de la Mode within its walls with 40 iconic silhouettes. The major exhibition "Look! 40 Years of Fashion at the Museum, reveals the craftsmanship and gestures of fashion, which—from the sewing workshops to the museum's backstage—transform clothing into works of art. The exhibition invites visitors to follow the two lives of a garment, before and after its entry into the collections. From the initial sketch to the runway, including fashion photography and the journey from the museum’s storage to its display, it unveils the stages of creation, preservation, and restoration that sustain this exceptional heritage.
