Sorting the World: Post-algorithmic Perspectives on the Photography Collection.
Lavoir Numérique

Two hundred years after the invention of photography, this exhibition explores the future of the photographic image when it is collected and processed algorithmically. What remains of its capacity to represent reality, and of the presumption of truth associated with it? The exhibition presented here seeks to demystify algorithmic collection practices and reveal their inherent fragility. It explores reconnecting with our ways of archiving, assembling, and collecting images, as well as testing our room for maneuver in the face of data extractivism.
