Exhibition: Everything is in Order

Institut Suédois
11 Rue Payenne
75003 Paris
France

“Everything Is in Order” explores, through art and fashion, a defining aspect of Swedish culture: a shared sense of order, restraint and neutrality, often associated with “good taste.” Rather than celebrating or rejecting these norms, the exhibition subtly examines how they shape bodies, behaviours and collective imaginaries.

Through everyday gestures—queuing, waiting one’s turn, adopting the right posture—it explores tensions between order and distortion, neutrality and identity, the ordinary and the absurd. Figures, sculptures, sounds and images reveal familiar yet displaced forms, while garments from different generations of designers are brought together without hierarchy. Art disrupts fashion, creating a space where humour, surrealism and everyday life intersect.
