Birdsong is an ongoing body of work that explores the complexities of belonging. Drawing on Teva Cosic’s experience of growing up between different cultures, the project reflects a longing to feel rooted. This sense of displacement is echoed through the relationship between image, maker, and audience. Rather than seeking revelation, the work exists as an extension of a feeling that images attempt to carry forward. Teva Cosic’s practice explores memory, loss, and place, informed by her Swedish and Croatian background and an interest in how social, cultural, and emotional connections are created through image-making.
