Days Like This

The exhibition features 17 new woven works based on the artist’s extensive archive of imagery, drawn from old family albums, historical film stills, found photographs, the artist’s own original photographs, and photographs lent to her. Wellm draws connections between the intimate dramas of everyday life and the collective histories of modern Europe, while also introducing glimmers of hope and tenderness: in the loving embrace of a group of young people, or in hands offering a cup of tea.
