Tamami Iinuma – Salut, Mr Bruno Taut

Salut, Mr Bruno Taut is a solo exhibition by Tamami Iinuma presented on the occasion of the publication of her photobook of the same title. The series features photographs of the Siedlungen (housing estates) designed by architect Bruno Taut in Germany during the 1920s and 1930s, photographed in Berlin and Magdeburg between 2010 and 2014. Rather than documenting architecture purely as form, Iinuma focuses on traces of lived experience: colors, windows, parked cars, trees, and signs of change accumulated over time. The photographs function as letters or postcards addressed to Taut, reflecting on architecture, memory, urban landscapes, and the lives that continue to inhabit these buildings today.
