Rolf Art announces Jorge Luis Borges: Technical Image & Material Culture, presented on the occasion of his birthday and the 40th anniversary of his death. The exhibition investigates the material conditions behind his public persona. Drawing on publications, posters, documents, and materials from Claudio Golonbek’s archive and personal collection, alongside works by Anatole Saderman, Grete Stern, Horacio Coppola, Sameer Makarius, Narcisa Hirsch, Sara Facio, Alicia D'Amico, Julie Méndez Ezcurra, Eduardo Gil, Marcelo Brodsky, Facundo de Zuviría & RES, the exhibition examines how photographs, printed matter, special editions, and other means of circulation actively participated in the production of Borges as a cultural phenomenon. Rather than simply documenting a literary career, these materials reveal the network of visual and editorial supports that shaped Borges's public presence, demonstrating that cultural history is also written through the objects and images that make it visible.
