Since the early 2000s, Muholi, who defines herself as a visual activist, has documented the lives of the Black LGBTQIAPN+ community in South Africa and around the world. The exhibition will bring together her main photographic series, especially Faces and Phases (an extensive mapping of lesbian, bisexual, non-binary, and transmasculine people done since 2006, now comprising hundreds of photos), Somnyama Ngomyama (self-portraits dealing with themes such as racism, work, Eurocentrism, and sexuality), Brave Beauties, and works produced in Brazil.
