Families

FOMU
waalsekaai 47

Netherlands

The exhibition Families explores how photography documents, constructs and transmits family narratives. Drawing on the FOMU collection, it brings historical family albums into dialogue with contemporary artists and photographers who question traditional representations of the family.

More than 200 photographs reveal the diversity and complexity of family relationships, between intimate memory, transmission and the rewriting of history. The exhibition creates a dialogue between past and present, between the images we preserve and those that challenge our personal and collective narratives.

Families offers a contemporary reflection on the family, its representations and its changing forms.
