Maria Wandel's exhibition 'she has got until Monday' is like a stream of consciousness, where poetic and ambiguous expressions and connections appear in an atmospheric tale created in a crisscross of painting and photography.
In the works, woman legs are alternately in motion and standstill, as in an inner drama. Hotel rooms, withered roses, a woman with her back turned and a pack of pills are depicted in the area between still life and film still, as if caught in a greater narrative coherence but drawn out of its original time and space.
Maria Wandel (1977) is educated from The Royal Danish Academy of Arts 1997-2005. She has exhibited at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Vendsyssel Art Museum and Kongernes Lapidarium among others.
