ADN Galeria
María María Acha-Kutscher’s second solo exhibition at ADN Galeria, titled “Womankind” features several long-term photographic projects that reframe the image of women in art and media. Born in 1968, she meticulously collects and organizes images from various sources, creating digital collages that challenge conventional views of femininity. This exhibition includes significant parts of her “Womankind” project, her latest color series on female aging, and the piece “La Rabbia di Proserpina” (2022), which addresses the normalization of violence against women in art history and celebrates women’s resilience. Acha-Kutscher’s work highlights feminist perspectives and the evolution of cultural identity, encouraging viewers to reconsider ingrained stereotypes and appreciate the complexity of women’s experiences and struggles.
