Galerie Rouge brings together Lillian Bassman and Sheila Metzner, two leading figures in fashion photography, in its new exhibition, "C'est Chic!" This title, which sounds like a slogan, refers to the elegance, expressiveness, and audacity that emanate from their photographs. These two artists embody an artistic freedom liberated from the commercial objectives of fashion and are distinguished by a sensitive and pictorial approach to printing. Having recently been featured in two major exhibitions—Sheila Metzner at the Getty Museum in 2023 and Lillian Bassman at the Metropolitan Art Museum in 2026—it seemed essential to us to bring them to a wider audience in France.
