STEVENSON is pleased to present a group exhibition curated in collaboration with Jeannette Ten Kate, The Art Connector. She writes: In Whispers Down the Alley, artworks respond to one another like words passed along in the familiar game of 'broken telephone': each work carries something forward, subtly alters it, and adds a new layer of meaning. What begins as recognition may shift along the way, become distorted, or collide with the unfamiliar.
The exhibition considers how people connect through what they share and recognise, while also examining how what is strange or not fully understood can create distance – at times even tipping into resistance. Whispers Down the Alley suggests that misunderstandings do not merely divide, but also reveal our expectations and anxieties. Dialogue lies at its heart: forms, ideas and emotions whisper, echo and clash within the space.
