The gallery Bene Taschen presents the exhibition City Landscapes by Miron Zownir.
While his photographic work has focused since its inception on marginalized individuals and social fringe groups, the current exhibition CITY LANDSCAPES offers a glimpse into the city as a naked backdrop for urban life. People withdraw from the observational focus and are casually exiled to the periphery of the scene. But even from there, the individual’s forlornness continues to manifest itself more or less visibly at surface level, surrounded by crumbling facades, eye-catching advertising, apocalyptic ruins and fire walls full of bullet holes.
