On the occasion of the Bicentennial of the birth of photography, LE BAL sought to explore the sometimes troubled, sometimes luminous, always unstable, and ultimately mysterious bond between the one who takes and the one who is captured in the act of photographing.
The exhibition will highlight iconic works as well as more intimate series from the 1920s to the present day. It is organized around a sensitive, non-didactic, non-thematic journey that favors resonances, affinities, and the interplay between images.
