Through the eyes of more than 40 artists, from Sebastião Salgado to Elsa Guillaume and Pierre Huyghe, the Tara Ocean Foundation and CENTQUATRE-PARIS explore the environmental, societal and poetic issues surrounding the Ocean, in an exhibition that reveals the richness and fragility of the Earth's largest ecosystem.

This retrospective exhibition of artists who have been aboard the Tara schooner for 20 years is a unique opportunity to highlight the Ocean, its little-known biodiversity, its role in the climate machine and the pollution that impacts it today, through the prism of art. Organized around four main themes: life, pollution, landscapes and the sensory, this exhibition also gives a special place to the discovery of travel journals in all their forms, precious testimonies of the Tara expeditions. The exhibition La Grande Expedition invites us to travel and to become more aware, by highlighting the creations - paintings, sculptures, photographs, audiovisual and sound installations... - produced during artistic residencies aboard the schooner.
