Bildhalle, which has showcased his iconic images in Zurich and Amsterdam over the past decade, invites you to a retrospective honoring his life and work. Born in Munich in 1936, Hoepker was a pivotal figure in photojournalism, contributing to magazines like Stern and Geo, and capturing historic moments, including portraits of Muhammad Ali. He moved to New York in 1976, became a Magnum member in 1989, and served as its president from 2003 to 2006. Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2017, his final project, “Dear Memories,” documents his last journey across the USA.
