Valéria Sóváradi and Anna Fabricius spent months in Rome thanks to a scholarship from the Hungarian Academy in Rome. Fabricius’ works, focus more on fragmentation—as a momentary visual impression—and on the importance of the unseen. Interestingly, the concepts of covering and invisibility are significant in both artists’ representations, but while Fabricius’ fragmented images do not clearly indicate the location of the absence, in Sóváradi’s works, the covering and partial absence of the given view precisely reveal the visible state of Rome 25 years ago..
