Two artists, two ways of breaking free from photography in order to question it more effectively. Vincent Bousserez and Serge Izquierdo share a common concern: the time required for an image to emerge, and the time it subsequently demands before it can truly be grasped. One draws on his prints; the other compounds, enlarges and probes. Their approaches, though seemingly opposed, nevertheless converge at the same threshold: the point at which the image ceases to be a statement and becomes a question.
