 Delpire, Paris

In her new book, Bérangère Fromont captures youth and resilience on the Place de la République, highlighting a generation that navigates between history, politics and everyday life.

Bérangère Fromont's "Republic" is a photographic series begun in 2023 that explores the presence of the body in space, light, and the individual's relationship to their environment. It mirrors her project " Except the Clouds " (2016), which focused on the Athenian revolts and the place of humanity in history.

The artist focuses his gaze on the Place de la République in Paris, a focal point of political passions and a symbol of unity, democracy, and freedom. His photographs concentrate on youth, capturing the bodies and gestures of a generation marked by anxieties about the future and the upheavals of history. They seize the spirit of a city oscillating between moments of revolt and peace, revealing what unites human beings: emotions, struggles, and the desire for balance.
