Galerie Binome is pleased to present the recent works of Anaïs Boudot for her third solo exhibition. " Our Reconstructions" brings together a series of photograms as well as sculptures and photographic installations, glass houses, window frames, and a collection of plates.
"The house is omnipresent in the history of photography: it is where amateurs and artists conduct their first experiments, where families are asked to pose, loved ones to look at the camera, and children to sit quietly while the picture is taken. Houses are simultaneously the quintessential site for self-presentation, a sociological indicator, and a theoretical object. As visual studies researcher Eliane de Larminat reminds us, 'If the house has been the subject of photography that is not strictly architectural, it is precisely because it is a complex object, situated at the intersection of the built environment and anthropological processes.' Anaïs Boudot does not shy away from this complexity, working simultaneously on the architecture of the houses she patiently constructs, on their representation, and on their symbolic dimension, asking us to consider what they reveal about ourselves."
