The RocioSantaCruz gallery is bringing together and presenting for the first time in an exhibition a collection of photographs from the Hairdressing series and other works, the artist created during her time in Barcelona. This exhibition is based on the study of more than 600 negatives and contact sheets from that period, many of which are previously unpublished. In addition, previously unpublished texts and poems by Ouka Leele, drawn from the archives of the magazine Ajoblanco , are also included .
Throughout her career, Ouka Leele maintained a close relationship with Barcelona, living here from August 1978 to 1980. It is in the city where she created her most important series, Hairdressing , which is part of the permanent collection of the MNCARS and occupies a room in its recent exhibition.
