This exhibition will introduce the "August 6 Hiroshima Day" collective photography activities carried out in Hiroshima by members of the All-Japan Student Photography Association (Zen-Nichi) from 1968 to 1971. Organized primarily by photography clubs at high schools and universities across the country, Zen-Nichi welcomed photography critic Tatsuo Fukushima as its de facto leader in the mid-1960s. During a period of major change in Japanese society, Zen-Nichi engaged in activities centered on social issues such as student protests and pollution and conducted exhibitions and publications.
