LE BAL presents a major exhibition dedicated to Guido Guidi, an essential figure in European photography. Since the 1960s, his demanding reflection on the language of the image has given birth to one of the most striking poetic approaches to sight in contemporary times.
Designed by the artist, the eighteen photographic sequences featured in the exhibition retrace the entirety of his work—from his black and white experiments of the 1960s and 1970s, to his explorations of the landscape and commissions in the following decades, up to his most recent projects. Notebooks, manuscripts, models, and unpublished documents displayed in cases shed light on certain aspects of his method and research.
