Galerie du Jour agnès b. is presenting Bernard Plossu’s new exhibition Dopo l'estate, covering almost three decades of photographic journeys to and from the Italian islands. The discovery of these lands off the coast of Naples, then the arrival at Stromboli, marked for Plossu the beginning of a deep passion for the raw, wild beauty of these islands, which he always explored out of season, preferring to visit ‘after the summer’ to capture their essence away from the crowds. His photographs reveal authentic scenes of island life, volcanic landscapes reminiscent of his time in Arizona, and moments of grace linked to the Italian soul, inspired by his muse and companion, Françoise Nuñez.
