"Light refracted in water vapor over a swamp, the geometry of stalks emerging from the water, the brush of shoots – all this comes to us as an image, and yet before and always exists as a thing in itself, independently. The indeterminacy of what grows without our participation is not a problem to be solved. It is a way of existing – a multiplicity of forms coexisting without order, name, or hierarchy.
