Isabelle Giovacchini's first monograph at an art center, Plongées, fragments, répliques offers a unique perspective on her experimental work of selecting and manipulating iconographic collections. Far from claiming historical veracity, the artist seeks to transfigurate images to produce confusion and indeterminacy, thus bringing out fragmentary narratives into which one’s imagination can be freely projected.
