Robert Capa invented a style: the war photographer, with his eye fixed on the lens and a scoop always in mind. As a committed witness, his gaze has left a lasting mark on the history of photojournalism and has shaped the new figure of the war photographer.
The Musée de la Libération de Paris – Musée du général Leclerc – Musée Jean Moulin presents, with the exceptional collaboration of Magnum Photos, a contextualized reinterpretation of his work.
More than sixty period press prints are exhibited alongside magazines, books, documents, and personal objects. Together, these one hundred and sixty pieces trace the journey of a young Hungarian immigrant who became an icon of modern photography.
