On the occasion of the inauguration of the School of Visual Arts (SVA) exhibition at the Caserne Napoléon curated by Oscar Villegas-Paez (through January 3, 2025), the Bibliothèque Historique (BHVP) and the School of Visual Arts (SVA), in partnership with The Arts Arena, invite you to an exciting evening dedicated to graphic design, its history and cultural impact, on December 16 (7pm-8;30pm).
Two major figures in the art world will be at the heart of this event, which will be presented by The Arts Arena's founder and artistic director, Margery Arent Safir :
Renowned graphic designer and SVA alumna Gail Anderson will look back on her exceptional career, her professional relationship with the school, and the lessons that shaped her career. Through her talk, she will highlight her approach to design and her creative vision, which continues to inspire the international art community.
Beth Kleber will explore the history of posters and their emblematic role in the evolution of American design in the 20th and 21st centuries. By analyzing the links between these graphic works and cultural, social and political transformations, she will offer an enriching perspective on the lasting impact of these creations in our collective visual history.
