At a time when the textile industry is at the heart of environmental and ethical awareness, the National Archives are looking back at its history in France. Drawing especially on a rich collection of fabrics shown to the public for the first time, the exhibition covers more than three centuries of industrial development in France, which implicitly outline the State's doctrine for this sector: to know, control and support.
