Crossings brings together two perspectives on the Indian subcontinent: British colonial photographs from the 19th century and recent works by French-Sri Lankan artist Vasantha Yogananthan. The exhibition draws on the Rijksmuseum’s rich collection, originally produced for Western audiences and shaped by colonial viewpoints. More than a hundred years later, Yogananthan returns to these landscapes, weaving personal and myth-inspired narratives in his long-term project "A Myth of Two Souls".
