The Pacific Ocean has been a constant part of my entire existence. My association with the ocean is complicated. At times it is romantic while at others those dark waters frighten me in some primeval way. The more years I spend near the ocean and its many moods, the longer I sit and listen to its steady roar, and the deeper I breathe of its salty air the more intricate and nuanced that relationship becomes.
