Bruce Silverstein Gallery presents a new solo exhibition of work by Chester Higgins.  The show is curated by Carrie Springer, former curator at The Whitney, and features fifty-four gelatin silver prints taken in the 1960s and 1970s.  The subject matter ranges from Higgins's portrayal of the American South, such as his home state of Alabama and the Civil Rights movement; to New York City where he was a staff photographer for The New York Times for four decades; to his many trips to Africa, primarily to Ghana and Senegal.
