The End / Not the End?

As part of the exhibition series "La jeune photographie allemande", organised annually by the Goethe-Institut Paris in cooperation with the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, students of the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne show photographic-installative pieces that address the ecological crisis. Among other things, they reflect on the almost incomprehensible complexity and global dimension of the climate crisis as a “hyperobject”. Furthermore, an artificial intelligence is queried about the future of the world and poetic narratives of demise emerge, in which mourning is paired with the will to act. Thus, the aim of art could be to make the invisible visible.
