An exhibition project by 23 students of the Broomberg/Chanarin class at the HFBK Hamburg, initiated by the Goethe-Institut Paris and the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation.
History is often told through the one-sided perspective of a string of conflicts. Since photography has served to document historical events, it influences our collective understanding of violence and destruction. The students aim to consciously counter these established narratives. In the exhibition SUTURE, the artists explore the connective potential of the medium. This offers a view into the future characterized by empathy and change.
