Photography, Class Weapon is the title of the manifesto of the photo section of the Association of Revolutionary Writers and Artists (A.E.A.R.). Founded in 1932, this organization brings together some of the most politically committed photographers from the Parisian avant-garde, such as Eli Lotar, Germaine Krull, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Chim. This exhibition offers a new look at the collection Christian Bouqueret acquired in 2011 by the the Musée National d’art Moderne while complementing with recent discoveries a still incomplete picture of documentary and social photography in France.
