carlier | gebauer presents 'Verdigris' , Paul Graham’s seventh solo exhibition with the gallery. This exhibition marks the culmination of a twelve-year sequence of works exploring the transience of life and the inevitability of mortality. 'Verdigris' completes a trilogy that began with 'Does Yellow Run Forever?' (2010-14) and 'Mother' (2018-19), juxtaposing images of people gazing into the horizon with ethereal photographs of cherry blossoms. These distorted images, taken in a New Jersey park, symbolize the intersection of nature, technology, and transience, inviting reflection on life’s fragility and the tension between preservation and decay. The exhibition will feature a book launch and artist talk on Saturday, 18 January 2025, at 4pm, for Graham’s new book Verdigris / Ambergris, published by MACK.
