To mark the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the association Les Amis de Marc Riboud and the Musée Guimet (which holds the collection of the great French photographer) have joined forces to present photographs and archival documents retracing Marc Riboud's work in Vietnam between 1966 and 1976.
Marc Riboud, who has never been a war photographer, doesn't show the fighting, but rather the life that goes on in the ruins, the bodies that try to rest in makeshift shelters, the lovers who meet up near bomb shelters, the liveliness of the children, the life that is shaken and wounded, but a life that goes on, tenacious, against all odds.
