On May 11, 1987 the trial of Klaus Barbie, the former Lyon Gestapo Chief during the occupation, opens before the Assize Court of Rhône. This is the first trial in France for a crime against humanity. It is also the first time that a criminal trial is filmed, under the authority of the Justice Minister Robert Badinter law.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of this momentous event, the exhibition retraces the proceedings of the trial that signaled the awakening of the memory of World War II and gave voice to its victims.
