Lea Lublin (1929-1999) created plural, multimedia, participatory artworks between South America and Europe, which imagined non-authoritarian modes of social articulation, affecting both the internal and the collective identity of the viewer. Her revolutionary thought was deployed in public space, designed as a space for circulation and communication.
The exhibition at the Galerie Michel Journiac pays tribute to the significance of the artists’s teaching at the Saint Charles Center, while presenting the evolution of her experimental social practice including drawings, paintings and larges installations. The polymorphous aspect of her work is enlightened by a great conceptual coherence which questions the ideological biases of her time.
